Music Program
Global Arts has two program sites: Global Arts Studio and at the Castellanos Campus of the Camino Nuevo Charter Academy, both in the Pico Union area of Los Angeles. A student-centric focus on music education and social development is at the core of Global Art’s program philosophy. Classes are based around youth development, meaning students take an active role in the leadership of their classes and the decisions that are made.
As part of the program, students take part in group classes based on their instrument family and participate in 3-4 performances over the course of the school year. Through music they learn how to be part of a team and community.
In addition to music classes students attend free musical performances by some of the best musicians in Los Angeles. Through these performances students are exposed to different types of music, instruments, and people.

Where are classes held?
Based in the Pico Union neighborhood of Los Angeles, Global Arts operates out of two locations. We recently opened a dedicated community center to expand our reach to local families, and we continue to maintain our presence at our partner elementary school, Camino Nuevo Castellanos.
Can anyone in the community enroll in Global Arts classes?
As long as the participant is between the ages of 7-18, yes! Fill out our interest form and we will be in touch with you!
Can I only enroll at the beginning of the semester?
Beginning classes start at the beginning of the school year but students with prior experience can often be placed mid year. Fill out our interest form and we will be in touch with you!
How much does it cost?
All Global Arts programming is completely free! This includes music supplies, borrowing an instrument, and a Global Arts t-shirt. You can help support the program and keep it free by telling your friends and family about our mission.
