Emily Kubitskey

CEO and Executive Director

Emily’s passion for supporting underserved youth through music has driven her career for over 15 years, both locally and internationally. As both a clarinetist and conductor, her desire to work with youth and music began at a young age, and eventually inspired her to pursue multiple degrees in music, education, and psychology. This resolve continued into her professional life, when 10 years ago she started her own consulting company that took her to countries such as Venezuela, Sweden, England, South Korea, and Italy, working with and conducting for organizations that support youth through music. Additionally, she has spent the last 15 years working for multiple non-profit organizations in Los Angeles, such as the LA Philharmonic (where she was one of YOLA’s founding teachers and wind conductors), the Pasadena Youth Symphony, and Los Angeles’ Visual and Performing Arts High School.

Most notably, in 2019, Emily founded Global Arts, a non-profit music education program in Los Angeles’ densely-populated neighborhood of Pico Union. She serves as both the CEO and a teaching artist. Additionally, she is the conductor of the Junior Philharmonic of the Kadima Conservatory.  Through her daily work, Emily has a consistent dedication to using music to empower the lives of youth around the world.

When she isn’t in the throes of conducting or building a non-profit, Emily loves running, traveling, and spending time with her husband and two cats.
